Carol Doak is an award-winning quiltmaker, author and teacher. She began her teaching career in 1980, in Worthington, Ohio. Carol's teaching has taken her to many cities in the United States and recently to Australia to share her quiltmaking "Tricks of the Trade." She wrote a column of the same title for Quick&Easy Quilting magazine. Her lighthearted approach and ability to teach have earned her high marks and positive comments from workshop participants.

Carol's first book, Quiltmaker's Guide: Basics & Beyond, was published in 1992. Carol's book, Easy Machine Paper Piecing, set in motion a passion for designing and creating foundation-pieced patchwork quilts. Carol used her paper pieced block designs and quick foundation piecing methods to create the garments featured in Easy Reversible Vests. Her other books, Easy Paper-Pieced Keepsake Quilts, Easy Mix and Match Machine Paper Piecing and Easy Paper-Pieced Minatures, feature more paper-pieced quilts to treasure.

Carol lives with her family in Windham, New Hampshire, where the snow-filled winter months provide a pretty picture to contemplate as she keeps cozy under quilts in progress.
